The maple/walnut neck and rosewood fingerboard have a thin "C" shape, creating an incredibly smooth, fast performance. Using both maple and walnut for the neck gives the guitar bright characteristics with plenty of warmth. The two woods work together to produce firm lows, sizzling highs, and a snappy attack in the mids. A rosewood fingerboard produces a body of overtones, as well as being smooth to play. The guitar’s neck is also reinforced with titanium rods from KTS, offering a lightweight design with better tone and playability then standard neck rods.
The use of Ibanez's own wizard HP (high performance) neck makes the Prestige extremely playable and optimised for lead guitarists. The thin nature of the neck helps you perform swift and nimble guitar runs seamlessly whilst retaining enough substance to ensure a thick and full resonance. The neck is treated with their Prestige fret edge treatment, creating a seamless feel along the neck and allowing for a more comfortable and smooth play.
The Ibanez lo pro edge system is a high performance double locking tremolo that was first introduced in 1991 on six and seven string guitars, and usually fitted on selected high-end Ibanez models. The extremely versatile floating tremolo system provides an added range of playing capabilities and improved tuning stability. Its streamlined profile and recessed fine tuners offers incredible playing comfort, while its locking studs contribute to the tuning stability.
The Ibanez hot grinder (HGD) humbuckers are specially designed for the S Prestige series, providing optimised gain with a crisp and defined sharpness. The central short tracer (ST) single coil pickup matches perfectly with the guitar's setup, producing a warm and classic single coil sound to create a tonally versatile guitar. With both single-coil and humbucker pickups, the prestige guitar delivers incredibly versatile tones that are perfect for a wide range of musical styles.
The Ibanez Prestige series combines precision, performance and playability to create a range of powerful and versatile electric guitars. Mixing high-tech manufacturing with old-world Japanese craftsmanship, the Prestige series is innovative in design and construction. The range is known for high performing fast necks, iconic pickup pairing and advanced electronics and hardware.
Over the past 30 years, Ibanez Guitars have always been at the forefront of developing the right tools for electric guitar players pushing the boundaries of music. For decades, Ibanez designers and luthiers have been the embodiment of this ideology, pushing their skills to the edge of imagination, consistently creating some of the most versatile and unique instruments ever. Although Ibanez guitars have been made since 1908, it wasn't until the late 1980’s that they began to form an identity for themselves when artists such as Steve Vai and Frank Zappa began using their instruments. Now with a huge artist clientele across the globe, Ibanez are a leading manufacturer of electric guitars and basses and a first choice for many dedicated musicians.
