This audio interface from Focusrite is one of their best yet, featuring a comprehensive range of premium-quality features and components that result in exceptional audio quality and performance. The interface features a 58-in/64-out configuration allowing to connect a range of external devices such as microphones, guitars and more. The high-headroom instrument inputs mean you can record a range of different instruments with a range of dynamic qualities, everything from heavy electric guitar riffs to soft acoustic pieces. Featuring Focusrite's best conversion performance yet - the Red 4Pre is the ideal choice for recording a range of inputs. Delivering up to 24-bit/192kHz and up to 121dB dynamic range, this interface delivers unparalleled audio reproduction, capturing every nuance of the audio source, whether it be vocals or instrumentation. The parallel path summing configuration of this interface results in the quietest design to date for the perfect balance of sound quality and conversion latency.
As well as the 58-in/64-out configuration, the Red 4Pre also features a range of additional connections. Featuring support for dual Thunderbolt™ 2, Pro Tools|HD and Dante™ network audio connectivity, this interface allows you to connect to a range of platforms. The two Thunderbolt 2 ports allow you to connect to your selected DAW whilst connecting Thunderbolt devices simultaneously. Additionally, there is support for the Dante™ network as well as direct Pro Tools connection, adding to the interface's versatility. You can also add up to 64 extra channels using the Dante™ audio network via an Ethernet connection for expansive connectivity options.
Four Red Evolution Air-Enabled Mic Preamps
One of the most unique features of this audio interface is the four integrated Red Evolution mic-preamps. These Air-Enabled mic preamps deliver up to 63dB of gain, providing exceptional clarity and harmonic performance. Offering individual phantom power, setting recall, stereo linking and more, these mic preamps are some of the most versatile and powerful on the market providing exceptional audio quality matched by its performance. The Air mode featured on these preamps provides analogue emulation of Focusrite's ISA preamp. This analogue emulation provides an added layer of versatility to your recordings allowing you to switch to a vintage sounding preamp, emulating all the warm characteristics of an analogue recording. Combine this with this interface's ultra-low latency performance and you have a powerhouse of an audio interface that can record multiple inputs whilst retaining exceptional audio quality.
