51 Albert Hall Proms full
The season ended at the weekend, in the very same venue, and saw attendance levels sit at an average of 93 per cent when it came to the music instruments (and general music) action of the primary proms held at the Hall in the evenings.
Youngsters were among those going to the Proms, with more than 7,500 people below the age of 18 attending various concerts.
More than 300,000 folk went to concerts in the Cadogan and Royal Albert Halls, and in excess of 35,000 were first-time prom ticket purchasers this year.
"I'm delighted that the 2012 BBC Proms have been so successful with audiences, particularly in such a unique summer in London," commented the Proms director, Roger Wright.
The Proms kicked off on July 13th, ending on September 8th.
