Ten years after she tragically died at the age of 22, fans, friends and music stars have been paying tribute to Aaliyah.
The R&B star was beginning to make headways in the music industry with hits like One in a Million and Try Again, when she died in a plane crash in the Bahamas in 2001.
She had just finished recording the song Rock Your Boat.
Timbaland and Missy Elliot, two of the biggest urban musicians in the world, and active mentors and collaborators in Aaliyah's career, took to the web to express their thoughts.
The producer Timbaland kept his sentiments to the point by writing on Twitter "miss you baby girl", which was then followed up with the tweet "much love to MTV Jams for playing all baby girl videos".
Elliot meanwhile said: "Til this very day you are still in your own lane. Your music is timeless! We miss you!"
Aaliyah's self-titled third album was released a month before her death. It has since gone on to sell over 13 million copies across the world.
