Acoustic guitar player plugs album on Google Street View
Acoustic guitar player Nate Heagy has come up with a novel way of publicising his new CD - getting a banner seen on Google Street View.
The musician told CBC News that while making music is hard, getting people to hear it is even more difficult.
After hearing that Google was sending a car to his hometown of Saskatoon to take photographs for its Street View service, Heagy suddenly had a brainwave.
He called in his friends to let him know when the car was in the area, so he could get photographed with a big banner advertising his album.
"The whole point is that curious people will, maybe, look for the music and find it," he commented.
Heagy added that his sound is a mixture of indie-rock and electronic music.
However, at least one musician has reportedly been keen to make sure he is not visible on Google Street View.
According to the Sun, Google removed photographs of Sir Paul McCartney's London home after the former Beatle made a complaint.Posted on 16 Dec 2009 17:00 to category : Music News
