Adele keeps bouncing back
First released in January 2011, 21 has been a near permanent fixture at the top of the charts, helping it become one of the most lucrative albums in recent times.
It has set the standard for what it means to be globally successful in the digital age. Last week it passed the two million sales mark on iTunes in the US, which is unprecedented.
The album had been at number three, but took the number one spot again after her epic performance at the Brit Awards. This resulted in a week on week sales uplift of 37 per cent, according to the Official Charts Company.
"Her singles have climbed a collective 159 places north this week, with signature tracks Someone Like You (32) and Rolling In The Deep (28) both going top 40," the company stated.
Now that she has her singing voice back, the star is expected to make up for her absence from the music scene in 2011 with a plethora of live performances.
