Adele: still UK number one
The record may be called 21, but it has outstripped its name by clocking up some 23 weeks in premiere position on the album chart overall, not all of them consecutive.
The collection of songs includes the incredibly popular piano ballad Someone Like You - Adele's highest charting single - as well as songs Rolling in the Deep, Turning Tables and Set Fire to the Rain, among others.
Meanwhile, Adele's previous album, 19, did three better than its title – it was at number 16 in the album chart this week, having enjoyed some 162 weeks on the list, the Official Charts Company website states.
Adele's 21 record has seen more than a year's worth of album chart action – 65 weeks in total.
The singer first saw chart success in 2008, with her single Chasing Pavements. Since then she has released tracks such as Make You Feel My Love and Cold Shoulder.
