Alesis PerformancePad Pro 'expands existing setups'

Drummers looking to add to their kit might find the new range of Alesis multi drum pads is flexible.

Musicians hoping to expand their electronic drum kit might find the latest range of Alesis PerformancePad Pro pads suits a number of different setups.

A total of eight velocity-sensitive pads can be used on stands or tabletops, while hi-hat and kick pedals can be combined with more than 500 sampled sounds. Existing kits can be expanded using the new products, while users should find the sequencer is similar to previous models as Alesis's loop-creating software has been updated for the release of this edition.

Dan Radin, product manager at the musical instrument manufacturer, said: "Drummers love the layout and feel of the original and this new version adds a new, larger sound library and powerful new features."

The sound quality has been boosted to high-definition with percussion sounds, bass and other effects, as well as acoustic and electronic drum beats.

Meanwhile, those hoping to practise at home on an electronic drum kit might want to invest in some sound-isolating headphones such as Alesis's DMPhones, which reproduce the numerous frequencies emitted by cymbals and kick drums, without having to turn the volume up to an extreme level.
