Alex Turner: Monkeys want another pop at Glastonbury
The Sheffield indie-rockers headlined the famous festival to rapturous applause but such is their high level of standards, they want to give it another pop.
Turner, who is praised for his ability to write clever songs with unique turns of phrases, told GQ that he still had plenty to achieve.
He said: "I mean, there's many things. There's a lot left, yeah. I'd really like another shot at headlining Glastonbury. I don't think we got that quite right when we did it."
Still only 25 years of age, Turner has established himself as the thinking-man's musician who exhibits a talent of a seasoned entertainer.
In the revealing interview with the magazine, he also said the band were in a good place and enjoying touring more than ever before.
"It feels like we're in a good spot right now. Everyone's sort of enjoying it. And I really enjoy playing in the States," he said.
"In Europe it's the big arenas every night. Here it's more varied. In addition to big places, we can play smaller clubs in a town in the middle of nowhere.
