Piano player Alicia Keys has been named as one of the star performers who will appear at a pre-tournament concert to celebrate the start of the football World Cup in South Africa.

The event will take place on June 10th 2010 at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, a day before the first game kicks-off.

Piano player Keys will be joined by a host of other acts from around the globe, including Shakira, the Black Eyed Peas, Tinariwen and John Legend.

It is expected that the gig will be broadcast around the world.
