Alicia Keys set for South Africa World Cup concert
Piano player Alicia Keys has been named as one of the star performers who will appear at a pre-tournament concert to celebrate the start of the football World Cup in South Africa.
The event will take place on June 10th 2010 at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg, a day before the first game kicks-off.
Piano player Keys will be joined by a host of other acts from around the globe, including Shakira, the Black Eyed Peas, Tinariwen and John Legend.
It is expected that the gig will be broadcast around the world.
Former South African footballer Lucas Radebe said: "Music and sports are the lifeblood of African culture, so to combine those in this historic event will be a true celebration."
As well as the Johannesburg date, Keys will be playing shows across America and Europe this year.
