Anti-X Factor Facebook campaign gains momentum
Electric guitar band Rage Against The Machine are enjoying a surge of sales from Facebook users plotting to stop the X Factor single topping the festive charts.
Members of the social networking site are banding together to get Killing in the Name to number one this Christmas to end The X Factor's hold on the coveted slot.
According to Amazon, sales of the track are not far off those notched up by X Factor winner Joe McElderry, who has recorded a cover of The Climb by Miley Cyrus.
"There is still a good chance that we may see one of the biggest shocks in chart history come Sunday," said head of music buying Julian Monaghan.
Speaking to the Metro, he revealed that the battle between the two tracks could go "right to the wire".
More than 19 million TV viewers tuned in to watch The X Factor final on Sunday night, in which McElderry fought off competition from Olly Murs.Posted on 15 Dec 2009 16:00 to category : Music News
