Appeal launched to track down Fender guitar signed by Jack White
A rare Fender guitar that was signed by Jack White has been stolen, prompting an appeal for its return.
Owner Paul Biver had left the instrument in his east London art studio while he built a display case for it, reports BBC News.
However, the Fender guitar was taken on the evening of January 23rd, leaving Mr Biver "gutted" about his loss.
Detective Constable Suzanne Raftery said it is believed more than one person was involved with the theft, as a computer and television were also taken at the same time.
"I am appealing to members of the public to come forward if anybody has tried to sell them this rare autographed Jack White guitar," she added.
Mr Biver had owned the instrument for three years, receiving it as payment for helping a friend redecorate their barge.
Earlier this month, Jack and Meg White announced they were disbanding The White Stripes.
The pair said there were a "myriad of reasons" for the decision, but none related to artistic differences or health issues.
They added that they hope the split will help to preserve what was "beautiful and special" about the group and the music they made together.
