Arctic Monkeys new studio album good enough to topple Lady Gaga

The Arctic Monkeys are proving to be even mightier than Lady Gaga with midweek sales of their new album putting them at number one.
Great deals on musical instruments

The Arctic Monkeys are proving to be even greater than the mighty Lady Gaga as midweek sales of their fourth studio album have the band at number one in the album charts.

According to the official charts company, the current sales figures for Suck It and See puts the band in the coveted top spot, with piano player Gaga slipping down to four.

If the Arctic Monkeys secure first position on top of the album charts, it will mark an astonishing feat – a 100 per cent record of straight to number one albums.

Their three previous albums were called Humbug, Favourite Worst Nightmare and Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.

Meanwhile, singing sensation Adele continues to sit strong, staying at number two, while Jackie Evancho, the runner-up on America's Got Talent, is looking to cement her first appearance in the UK album charts with a top ten position.

The Arctic Monkeys recently revealed that they kept their unusual band name because it was given the mighty seal of approval from the punk performer John Cooper Clarke.
