Arctic Monkeys to play Polish festival
The Sheffield natives will headline the event on July 4th and join the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Blur and Kings of Leon, who have already been announced to play the summer festival.
Open'er takes place in Gdynia between July 3rd and 6th and has played host to a number of major acts in the past such as Prince, Bjork and Franz Ferdinand among a plethora of other major acts.
Arctic Monkeys are reported to be back in the studio to record the follow-up to 2011's Suck It And See which gained rave reviews from critics and fans alike after its release.
Front man Alex Turner spoke of the album and told Artrocker: "I think we're going to go the direction of those heavier tunes. We did R U Mine?, and I think that's where it's going to be at for us for the next record."
Arctic Monkeys recently played the opening ceremony of the Olympics Games in London covering The Beatles' Come Together.
