Aspiring piano players 'need to set themselves specific goals'

Anyone who wants to learn how to play the piano must set themselves some specific targets.

People thinking of purchasing a digital piano and learning how to play the musical instrument should set themselves specific and achievable goals.

According to Stuart Cross, the founder of Morgan Cross Consulting, it is not difficult for people to coach themselves to realise their full potential, whether in the workplace or when taking up a new hobby.

Writing on the BNET UK website, Mr Cross said: "Learning the piano may be one of your major ambitions, but to move forward you need to turn this goal into more pragmatic objectives."

He suggested this could take the form of planning to have ten piano lessons in the next three months – helping people to take action in order to make the possibility of learning the musical instrument a reality.

Last month, the Daily Star reported that Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been teaching himself how to play the piano for the past year.
