BBC heralds Stirling music event
Viewers of BBC Four – as well as people watching on big screens in 22 British locations – will be able to see the open-air event taking place on the Raploch estate. Alternatively, people will be able to listen to it on BBC Radio Scotland.
The concert event will involve The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra playing and is linked to the London 2012 Festival beginning.
The festival kicks off on June 21st (the day of the concert) and finishes on September 9th. Its website features an interactive programme and details of other events such as a forthcoming show from artist Tracey Emin.
Apparently, nearly 300 music instrument players and other musical performers will appear on a stage constructed in time for the Stirling event.
"It is fantastic news for BBC Scotland to be covering this very special event. It promises to be an amazing night of great performance," commented BBC Scotland's Eileen Herlihy.
