Barnes and Mullins to distribute beginner saxophone reeds
Acclaimed French reed-makers Vandoren Paris and its US partner, DANSR, have launched the new Juno Student Reed which is specifically designed for those players that are just learning how to play the saxophone.
Musicians in the UK will be able to get their hands on the new reeds when they are distributed by Barnes and Mullins (B&M) to stores around the country towards the end of February.
Juno reeds have been carefully selected from special coastal Mediterranean cane and have been given an exclusive cut which provides extra responsiveness, ideal for students learning the instrument.
They are designed to allow budding musicians to play the saxophone much easier while still maintaining the fresh sound associated with the Juno brand.
Kerry Long, B&M's orchestral specialist, said: "What Vandoren Paris have done is found a genuinely special way of cutting and treating the cane to make it easier for beginners to play, and most importantly, make it easier to get a good tone.
"As we all know, the better you sound, the more you enjoy playing, and the longer you will play."
