Baroque violin enjoying its own modern renaissance

Popularity of the violin is growing with new players.
Great deals on musical instruments
The Baroque violin is one of the most iconic instruments of its generation, and now it is enjoying its own modern renaissance.

Bridgewood & Neitzert, a London-based dealer, maker and restorer of the stringed instruments, explained that the violin is becoming more and more popular with new players.

Gary Bridgewood from the company explained that Baroque violin requires a different style of playing from the traditional version and that people are enjoying taking up the challenge of learning this model.

"I love playing the modern instrument in many different styles but playing those classic pieces using a Baroque violin really is a unique and rewarding experience. It's a great feeling and I can totally understand why they are still so popular," Mr Bridgewood added.

The violin is different from modern-day instruments as it needs to be held more parallel to the floor.

From the beginning of the 17th century to the middle of the 18th century, the influence of the music of the generation helped to form much of the familiar creative base of classical music and instruments.
