Bass guitar player aims for charts
A bass guitar player who inspired T-Mobile's current TV advertising campaign has cast an eye on the pop charts.
Oxfordshire-based musician Josh Ward has recently been fronting the company's commercials, which show him getting more than 1,100 people to record their parts to an original song.
Mr Ward is now hoping to get the completed track, which is available as an internet download, into the pop charts.
"I'd love it to get charted, in the top 75 of something like that," he told the Oxford Mail.
The unusual project came about when Mr Ward was out one day and bumped into a film crew sent by the mobile phone company, who asked him what he would do with an unlimited number of text messages.
He said he would like to start a band consisting of hundreds of people, a reply which inspired T-Mobile to set him the challenge for real.
This is not the first music-related advertising campaign T-Mobile has run, as it recently organised a mass singalong in London's Trafalgar Square.Posted on 12 Jan 2010 19:00 to category : Music News
