Beach Boys 50th anniversary reunion
Not only are they getting back together to celebrate their legendary contribution to music, but the band are also looking to record a new studio album.
Founding members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Bruce Johnston, Al Jardine and David Marks plan on going on a 50-date world tour in 2012.
Wilson said: "This anniversary is special to me because I miss the boys and it will be a thrill for me to make a new record and be on stage with them again."
His band mate Love was equally excited at the prospect of jamming with old friends.
"Music has been the unifying and harmonising fact of life in our family since childhood," he said.
"It has been a huge blessing that we have been able to share with the world. Wouldn't it be nice to do it again? Absolutely!"
The Beach Boys are famous for tracks like Good Vibrations, Wouldn't It Be Nice and God Only Knows.
