Beady Eye 'determined not to play Oasis songs'

Liam Gallagher's new band Beady Eye will stay away from playing Oasis tracks, despite including several members of the latter band in their ranks.

Beady Eye guitar player Andy Bell explained to the Daily Record that a decision was taken early on by the group to concentrate on their original recordings rather than relying on material penned as part of Oasis.

The musician said doing so would have been unfair to Noel Gallagher, who parted ways with the Britpop legends following an acrimonious row with his brother Liam.

"It's been like that from day one. It just doesn't seem right to play those songs without Noel there," he said.

"He wrote most of those classic tunes. That's what Oasis was."

Beady Eye are currently on their first tour, with two dates in London planned for later this week.

The electric guitar band are then set to head to mainland Europe, playing shows in cities including Paris, Milan, Madrid, Amsterdam and Brussels.

Another set of UK gigs will follow in April, taking in shows in Belfast, Edinburgh, Newcastle and Leeds as the band perform tracks from debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding.
