Beatles inspired Bon Jovi star to pick up a guitar
The Bon Jovi star told MusicRadar that one of his earliest memories was watching the Fab Four make their landmark appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964.
This, he said, made him want to become a musician and learn to play the electric guitar.
"I didn't get a guitar and join bands till much later - not till my early teens," Sambora commented.
"But I always knew I wanted to be a rock star."
Sambora added that when he was very young, he used to fantasise about being one of The Beatles.
However, he said could not pick a favourite member of the band, as he would want to be whichever Beatle was singing the song he was listening to at the time.
Indeed, Sambora noted that he would sometimes fantasise about being Ringo Starr whenever he did something "extraordinary" behind the drum kit.
The comments come in the week that The Beatles' entire back catalogue was rereleased in remastered form, including all their albums, singles and B-sides.Posted on 10 Sep 2009 11:58 to category : Music News
