Behringer launches range of USB interfaces
The company introduced the U-Phoria tools with the UM2, UM22, UMC202 and UMC204 which all include the professional-grade +48 V Phantom Power that is designed for use with condenser microphones.
Officials described the UMC202 as being fitted with an impact-resistant metal chassis which is "built-like-a-tank" but this comes as standard with all of Behringer's range of USB interfaces.
The products are ideal for musicians setting up their own home studio and looking for an affordable option. It still offers high-performance input for those looking for competent recording software.
The UM2 provides the low-noise Xenyx mic preamps, while the UM22, UMC202 and UMC204 are at the other end of the spectrum and feature Midas-designed mic pres.
Behringer explained that the +48 V Phantom Power means that musicians are able to make the smooth transition from studio mics to using the more sensitive condenser mics for a much richer sound.
