Bitwig Studio DAW Arrives! Download Demo Version
After years of development, Bitwig Studio 1.0 has got a lot of people very excited, and here's why...
Bitwig lets you choose between display profiles; large, small, dual display for the studio, dual display for arranging and mixing and dual display for mastering and getting right into the details, if that's not enough, triple display is available.
Combine your built-in instruments, effects and VST plug-ins to create a sound that's all your own. You can even map any device or VST using the Unified Modulation System.
Drag and drop elements from separate projects into others simply by opening multiple projects simultaneously.
And that's not all. Add expression to your audio and notes, edit using the histogram, layered editing, smart controller integration and plug-in crash protection.
Developed by four musicians formerly from Ableton, Bitwig puts you directly in control of the music you make, whichever operating system you use, working with Windows, MAC OS X and Linux.
There's even a scripting API, letting you open controls and use Bitwig your way. When using your favourite hardware controller with Bitwig Studio, the Open Controller API allows you access to the inner workings of Bitwig, so you can tailor every pad, knob, button and key to your needs.
Look out for upcoming versions of Bitwig Studio, where there will be a network sync function, allowing multiple users on separate computers to jam without falling out of sync and an online collaboration feature, making it easy for you to share your work with others. This means composing on the same project from different locations, wherever you are in the world.
