Bloc Party bassist's side-project to release new album
Gordon Moakes, the bass guitar player in Bloc Party, is to put out a new album with his other band later this year.
Young Legionnaire are to release their debut record on May 9th, with the LP set to be called Crisis Works, reports NME.
The band, who also include Paul Mullan from The Automatic in their ranks, have offered Chapter, Verse - the first single from the album - as a free download from their website as they look to build anticipation up for Crisis Works.
Moakes and the rest of the group are currently on a UK tour with Les Savy Fav and are due to head over to the South by South West Festival in Texas in March.
During next month, they will also play shows in Los Angeles and New York as they look to build their US following.
The bass guitar player is not the only member of Bloc Party to remain busy while the band take a hiatus.
Lead singer Kele Okereke brought out a solo album entitled The Boxer last year, while electric guitar player Russell Lissack also released a debut record with side-project Pin Me Down in 2010.
