Bloc Party 'heading back to the studio in September'
Bloc Party will end their hiatus by heading back into the rehearsal studio together again in September.
Electric guitar player Russell Lissack, who has been performing with Ash during the break, confirmed to NME that work on new material has already begun.
"Kele [Okereke] and I started working on Bloc Party stuff together and separately," he explained.
"We're having a bit of a break until the festivals are over, because people have commitments during the summer, but we're going to get back properly in September and sit in a rehearsal studio to work on new band material."
Lead singer Kele released a solo album entitled The Boxer while his regular band took time off from the music scene.
He is to play tracks from the record at a number of live dates this summer, including the Latitude and V festivals.
The star will be part of a line-up at Latitude that will be headlined by The National, Paolo Nutini and Suede.
Other acts on the bill for the bash - which takes place between July 14th and 17th - include Bombay Bicycle Club, Bright Eyes, Foals and My Morning Jacket.
