Bloc Party's Kele Okereke to release solo album in June
Electric guitar player and Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke has announced he is to release his debut solo album in June.
The record is to be called The Boxer and will be available to fans from June 21st 2010, following the release of first single Tenderoni a week earlier on June 14th.
Okereke told NME that the album will mark a move away from Bloc Party's indie roots to showcase his love of dance music.
"I've said from the beginning I'm into dance, it gets me excited and I think this record is going to go some way to prove that to people, hopefully," the electric guitar player said.
With Bloc Party currently on hiatus, Okereke is not the only member of the group to busy himself with other projects.
