Bonnie Tyler confident of UK performance at Eurovision
The singer will be performing her track Believe In Me in Malmo and has insisted that the country can triumph at the event after years of poor showings.
Speaking to BBC News, Tyler criticised the 2012 entry, Engelbert Humperdinck's Love Will Set You Free, claiming that while Humperdinck was a superstar she did not think that the song was "good enough".
However, she is confident this year's track will perform better and added: "We've got a chance with this song - it's written by a world-class songwriter [Desmond Child]. I know there are some other good songs, but hopefully we'll do better than last year."
The 2013 Eurovision Song Contest will be held at the Malmo Arena in Sweden on May 18th and the UK will be looking to claw some of its reputation following years of decline.
Entries have performed poorly since Katrina and the Waves famously took home the title with Love Shine a Light in 1997.
In 2003, the UK got a humiliating nil points as pop duo Jemini failed to impress the other countries.
Bookies have the UK at 25/1 to win the competition, while Denmark have been installed as favourites at 6/4.
