Bootleg Beatle hails playing in tribute band
Playing electric guitar in a tribute band is a brilliant job, a member of The Bootleg Beatles has said.
Neil Harrison has been brandishing a Rickenbacker guitar to play the part of John Lennon for three decades now.
Although he admitted that covering another act's songs can restrict creativity to some degree, he believes he is more fortunate than most.
"I feel sorry for an Abba tribute band," he commented.
"They really have to play all their hits, but at least we can swap so many songs around every year."
Speaking to the Liverpool Daily Post, Harrison said his focus is on playing the Fab Four's material as accurately as possible.
He added that the reason he spends his time playing in a tribute band is because he still loves the music.
