Bowling for Soup played their song wrong
Bowling for Soup played one of their songs wrong for years.
The pop punk group have released 11 albums and frontman Jaret Reddick admitted remembering all the tracks they've written can sometimes cause problems, notably on one particular song from their 2004 album 'A Hangover You Don't Deserve'.
Jaret told BANG Showbiz: " We actually realised that Erik [Chandler] and I had been playing 'Friends O' Mine' wrong for years.
"Because we'd just been doing it on acoustic - when we worked it back up with piano for the last tour we realised when we played a certain chord it would just sound wrong, and we were like, 'what the fk is going on?' and he was like - that is not an E minor chord guys! That's a C!"
"It sounds fine if you're just playing the guitar and singing though."
Aside from getting the chords right, Jaret doesn't feels there's anything he'd change about the band's career, not least because he's wary of the knock on effects it could potentially have.
He added: "You know, we've just been so fing lucky - and I just think about that Butterfly effect thing, if I changed one thing, what else would change? You don't really want to stir the pot - you see the time machine movies, and it's just like 'oh s*t Michael J Fox just kissed his mom! We're super blessed and we have an amazing fan base."Posted on 27 May 2011 08:30 to category : Music News
