Brian May praises John and Edward
Queen's electric guitar player has given two X Factor contestants the thumbs-up after they sang one of his songs.
Much-maligned twins John and Edward performed Queen's 1977 hit single We Will Rock You at the weekend, to the approval of Brian May.
"Damn good luck to them," he told the Evening Standard.
"They sang it and gave it all of their energy."
May, who also wrote hits such as Now I'm Here and Tie Your Mother Down, went on to dismiss Simon Cowell's suggestion that their rendition of the song would ruin Queen's career.
Indeed, he said the band members should celebrate rather than complain if someone chooses to sing one of their songs.
May stated that he would only be unhappy if a singer turned one of his compositions into something "racist or disgusting".
The electric guitar player is no stranger to TV talent shows, as he recently performed on the season finale of American Idol with Queen drummer Roger Taylor.Posted on 5 Nov 2009 10:35 to category : Band / Celebrity News
