Brian Wilson considering reunion with Beach Boys for 50th bash
Brian Wilson, the legendary singer and keyboard player, whom recently announced his intention to retire from touring, has made another shock announcement – he is thinking about getting back together again with the Beach Boys to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
The announcement is bound to cause a stir in the music industry and among fans as the Beach Boys are one of the biggest pop bands to have played in the 20th century.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music, he hinted that this seminal moment could be the best opportunity to once again perform with the rest of the band since they last jammed together in the mid-90s.
He said: "I don’t know yet but I’m considering it. Nothing’s really holding me back. I just don’t know if I want to be around those guys you know. They’re zany guys. They’re crazy."
He also revealed to BBC 6 Music that his usual prolific output of songs had slowed down lately and he wasn't writing as much as he used to. He explained that he has "exhausted his creativity".
The Beach Boys first number one hit was the 1964 classic I Get Around. There other number one singles in America are I Get Around, Good Vibrations and Kokomo.Posted on 16 May 2011 22:38 to category : Band / Celebrity News
