Bruce Springsteen would be the 'people's governor'
Should Bruce Springsteen ever decide to hang up his guitar and bid farewell to music, he might want to consider an alternative career as a governor, if the results of a new poll are anything to go by.
A hypothetical survey by Public Policy Polling found that if Springsteen were to put his hat in the race to be governor of New Jersey he would just edge the current Republican incumbent Chris Christie and win.
The poll reported that The Boss, as he is affectionately known, would tie 42-42 with Christie but end up as the victor because of much higher favourability ratings.
Although the poll was done in jest it is nevertheless revealing how much support Springsteen would actually have if he ever did consider entering into politics.
The legendary musician would indeed be suited to political life as has never been shy of airing his own political views, recently writing a letter in the Asbury Park Press criticising cuts in New Jersey.
Christie meanwhile has taken the results of the poll with a pinch of salt claiming he is a huge Springsteen fan.
The feeling doesn't appear to be mutual as when Christie asked The Boss if he would play at his inauguration in 2009, he was politely rebuffed.
