Cardiff man's radio to be sold to public
And now a Cardiff man has won a competition to create a radio design.
The competition was tied-in with the well-known Today programme, which airs on Radio 4 and which announced news of the contest's results recently. The programme first hit the airwaves back in 1957.
But David Hampson's radio didn't just win a contest – because of this it will actually be sold to the public soon. And money raised from this will help the well-known Children In Need charity.
"I'm thrilled to have won the competition and it's wonderful to know that my design will be a part of people's homes. I'm also pleased that profits will be going to BBC Children in Need," said Mr Hampson.
Among the BBC's music-playing radio stations are Radio 1, Radio 2 and Radio 3.
