Libertines star Carl Barat is to play his first gig with side-project Infant Sorrow tonight (June 24th 2010) in Hollywood.

The electric guitar player is joined by actors Russell Brand and Jonah Hill in the group, which was formed for new film Get Him to the Greek, the sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

While recording songs for the film, which were mostly written by Barat, the three managed to record enough material for a full-length album, which is to be released in the near future, reports the Sun.

They will play their first show tonight at The Roxy on Sunset Strip.

Barat is set for a busy few months, as The Libertines have reformed ahead of comeback shows at the Reading and Leeds festivals.

Earlier this year, the electric guitar player told NME that fans of the group attending the shows could expect them to play the hits from their back catalogue.

"People want to hear them, so we're going to give them a run," he said.
