Carl Barat to bring out solo album in October
Libertines guitar player Carl Barat is to bring out his debut solo album in October.
Announcing the news via his MySpace page, Barat revealed the yet-to-be-named record will be supported by a tour of the UK taking place in the same month.
Beginning in Brighton on October 15th 2010, Barat will go on to play gigs in cities including Stoke-on-Trent, Nottingham, Newcastle, Manchester and London.
After the UK dates, he will then perform in a series of places around Europe, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne and Berlin.
The electric guitar player is also due to bring out a book of memoirs in the autumn.
Earlier this year, Barat told BBC Newsbeat that his debut album takes him down a considerably different musical path than the work he is known for with The Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things.
"It's kind of naked, kind of stripped down," he said. "It's more piano-based."Posted on 18 Jun 2010 09:43 to category : Band / Celebrity News
