Caro Emerald scores first-ever UK number one album
It marks a major milestone for the Dutch singer/songwriter who managed to hold off competition from last week's leaders Rudimental by selling slight less than 3,000 copies, according to The Official Charts Company.
Emerald burst on to the mainstream music scene with her 2010 debut album, Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor which climbed as high as number four in the UK charts and she has gone one better with her follow-up record.
Speaking to Official Charts Company, Emerald said: "I'm humbled by this exciting news. It's such a huge recognition for the hard work we've put into this record. I want to give a big thank you to all the fans and everybody who has supported us over the last few years."
Rudimental drop down to second place with their debut record Home while Hugh Laurie's Didn't It Rain, Michael Buble's To Be Loved and Alison Moyet's The Minutes make up the rest of the top five.
