Great deals on musical instruments
Old guitar strings used by Black Sabbath founder Tony Iommi are being given a new lease of life as a charity is converting them into jewellery

The famous guitarist donated the strings to Wear Your Music which turned them into necklaces and bracelets, giving fans a unique item of clothing.

Donated proceeds from the sale of the jewellery are going to the Nordoff-Robbins charity which uses music as a therapy to help children who have learning disabilities.

Iommi becomes the latest artist to donate guitar strings to Wear Your Music with the likes of Bryan Adams, Eric Clapton and Noel Gallagher already contributing to the charity.

The company said: "Tony Iommi is frequently referred to as the inventor of heavy metal with his trademark riffs powering the legendary Black Sabbath.

"Having sliced off the ends of three fingers in a factory accident when first starting out, Tony switched to very light gauge strings. These make his bracelet especially unique."

The guitar string bracelets are available from the charity's website and retail between £65 and £130.

Black Sabbath are set to embark on a major US tour over the summer months before moving on to South America in October.
