Children encouraged to pick up instruments at Sound Festival

Kids could be tempted to learn a new musical instrument once the Sound Festival gets underway in Aberdeen next week.
Great deals on musical instruments

Children who think of themselves as budding performers have been encouraged to pick up musical instruments at a forthcoming event in Aberdeen.

The Sound Festival takes place between October 20th and November 14th 2010 and various concerts and exhibitions will be held around the Granite City during this period.

Writing for the Press and Journal, Colene McKessick, has said that kids can learn a lot of new skills at the festival, including getting involved with the latest technology.

"Children can use electronic musical instruments, record sounds [and] play with a special jukebox," she wrote.

As well as performances, there are also a number of activities and interactive sessions taking place, which could encourage children to learn musical instruments.

This includes the Dirty Electronics Workshop on November 13th, which will allow young musicians to build their own musical instruments.

Ms McKessick added that the festival is a "great way to get involved and have with music".
