Chipmunk won't date fans
Chipmunk would never date one of his fans.
The 'Chip Diddy Chip' rapper finds it strange female fans keep "throwing themselves" at him, but wouldn't get too close to them, in case they sold a story about him to a newspaper.
He said: "It's weird learning to deal with girls throwing themselves at you - it's so surreal. I've always been popular with the ladies, but the first thing to remember is to have manners at all times.
"These girls are fans so I can't be rude, no matter how rude they want to be with me! I don't know where they get their confidence from - they'll say anything to get your attention - but I don't want to end up in the tabloids after someone sells their story!"
Despite hitting number one in the UK with his single 'Oopsy Daisy' last year, the British star - born Jahmaal Noel Fyffe - keeps his life as normal as possible and spends time with his friends rather than "Z-list" celebrities.
He added to Zoo magazine: "I don't buy into all this boozing with Z-list celebrities. Every time I get to number one, I celebrate with my team, not some bloke off a soap! I was amazed to discover there are celebrities who call the paparazzi to tell them where they'll be and then act all annoyed about their privacy. That's dumb.
"I don't mind coming out of a nightclub with a Sugababe and having my picture taken, but it's made me realise I couldn't be in a celebrity relationship.
"Put it this way - I don't tidy my house because I'm expecting visitors, I just keep my house tidy, if you know what I mean!"Posted on 20 Apr 2010 07:00 to category : Band / Celebrity News
