Chris Martin to appear in The Simpsons
Martin is the latest in a string of music luminaries to voice an animated version of themselves in the programme, which has so far notched up 20 seasons.
Indeed, the show counts former Beatles Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr as previous guest stars.
Members of The Who, U2, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and REM have also swapped their electric guitars for the world of cartoons by voicing their animated alter egos.
Other famous guest stars include Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, Sting, Dolly Parton and Britney Spears, while even world leaders such as Tony Blair have appeared on the programme.
Coldplay, who are perhaps best known for hits including In My Place and Yellow, are currently touring in the US and are gearing up for a series of European dates later in the year.Posted on 28 Jul 2009 10:57 to category : Band / Celebrity News
