Chuck D has revealed that Public Enemy are about to bring back some of the old school flavour to hip-hop this year, after announcing the group are to release two studio albums.

The rap megastar revealed to Billboard that the hip-hop innovators, who first came together in 1982, that this would begin with the release of Most of My Heroes Still Don't Appear on No Stamp in June.

Their good pal Gary G-Wiz is producing that album.

In September this will be followed up by The Evil Empire of Everything.

Chuck D has described the two-album release as being "two concise statements that are connected in the same breath".

"My place in hip-hop is not to be a tycoon, making trillions with a yacht. That's not my place," he told the music news provider.

"My place is maybe bringing people together and me being able to identify and illuminate a cause, and we'll make it comfortable for them to be themselves but say what they've really been wanting to say all along, you know, with my protection."

Public Enemy's last album was 2007's How to Sell Your Soul to a Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul? It was their tenth record.
