Clash legends reunite on new Gorillaz album
Electric guitar player Mick Jones is to reunite with Paul Simonon, his former bandmate in The Clash, for a track on the new Gorillaz album.
Simonon, who played the bass guitar in the groundbreaking 1970s group, is playing with Jones on Plastic Beach, the title track from the new record.
A host of other stars are to feature on the new album from Gorillaz, the animated band created by Jamie Hewlett and Blur frontman Damon Albarn.
Lou Reed, Mark E Smith from the Fall and rapper Snoop Dogg are amongst those who will be appearing on the group's third record, which is set to be released on March 3rd 2010.
The first single from Plastic Beach, Stylo, hit airwaves across the UK yesterday (January 20th 2010).
