Coheed and Cambria bassist praises drummer's influence on new record
Michael Todd, the bass guitar player in Coheed and Cambria, has praised the influence of the rock group's drummer on the sound of their latest record.
Speaking to the official Fender blog, he credited some of the reason for the change to drummer Chris Pennie, who joined the band in 2007 but has had to wait until now to make a contribution in the studio.
Todd said Pennie, who was a co-founder of Dillinger Escape Plan, comes from a "jazz/polymeter/metal background".
"That's changed the way I've played the bass and changed the way we all kind of write as a band," he explained.
Coheed and Cambria are set to conduct a short tour of the UK next month in support of the new record.
The band will play in Glasgow, Newcastle and London with the first show happening in Scotland on June 22nd 2010.Posted on 13 May 2010 14:31 to category : Music News
