Coldplay: Recession inspired our album
The band, who are known for being interested in politics and activism, told Spin magazine that Mylo Xyloto came out after feeling infuriated with the madness of the economic fallout back in 2008.
Chris Martin, frontman for the band who are currently celebrating shooting to the top of the album charts, has gave his backing to the Occupy Wall Street movement, which has transformed into a global protest.
"The recession has something to do with it," he told the news provider: "And the feeling of being mad at the people who did sub-prime mortgages and got everyone in such a heap of trouble."
He also revealed that the public have a skewered image of the hit-making band, with many people questioning what motivates them as musicians.
Martin recently said that Mylo Xyloto could be Coldplay’s last ever album as the work and effort they put into it led to it being one of the most exhaustive experiences of making music.
For the meantime, they are going to enjoy the success of it and look forward to performing live.Posted on 1 Nov 2011 12:25 to category : Band / Celebrity News
