Common: Drake is good
Common, who many in the industry feel is one of the best hip-hop stars of all time, told Rolling Stone that Drake of Young Money fame was a decent rapper who made good music.
"He's definitely said some real clever things and made some cool songs. I like his music," said Common, 39.
It comes after an alleged 'beef' between the two stars, which is a normal phenomenon in hip-hop.
Throughout the genre's history, rivalry between artists like Tupac and Biggie, Jay-Z and Nas, and The Game and Fifty Cent, have created a buzz in the industry.
Of this so-called tension, Common said: "I don't think I had anything to prove.
"I just felt like somebody stepped and challenged me, so I had to step into the ring. He said some things that I thought were directed at me, so I had to address it back."
One of his seminal albums is 2005s Be, which was largely produced by Kanye West.
