Corinne Bailey Rae gets new Gibson acoustic guitar
Singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae has a new instrument a Gibson acoustic guitar.
The musician posed with her Gibson Robert Johnson L1 acoustic guitar for the instrument maker's website, in a series of publicity shots designed to promote her soon-to-be-released second album The Sea.
In June 2006, Bailey Rae shot to fame on both sides of the Atlantic with her self-titled debut album that contains the single Put Your Records On.
But Bailey Rae has said The Sea, which is released in the UK on February 1st 2010, will have a more poignant feel following the death of her husband in 2008.
"It's about loss but it's also about hope, about keeping going and trying to find that beauty," she recently told the Observer.
She said her influences on this record have included Leonard Cohen, Nina Simone and Curtis Mayfield.
Bailey Rae is shortly set to take her Gibson acoustic guitar on tour with her, with dates including a performance at Shepherds Bush Empire in London on February 24th.Posted on 21 Jan 2010 10:52 to category : Instruments News
