Corrine Bailey-Rae's grief album
Corrine Bailey-Rae's latest record helped her get over the death of her husband.
The 'Put Your Records On' hitmaker, who lost her husband Jason Rae in March 2009, admitted that her new album 'The Sea' has helped her deal with the grief.
She said: "Getting to play this record and tour, that's going to be a massive help for me. I feel it's going to help to move me forward, and also give me something to do. It is my job."
However, the singer said she doesn't want people to feel sorry for her.
Corrine said: "I definitely don't want to be seen as like, 'Oh, wow, she's soldiering on!' Because I don't feel like I am. At this particular point I'm finding it to be the right thing to do."
Discussing problems she had songwriting for the album, she told the Daily Telegraph: "I didn't hear anything. Nothing came in. It's hard to explain.
"You can't play it down. I felt extremely, extremely destructive, and I've never felt that before."Posted on 26 Jan 2010 07:30 to category : Music News
