Daft Punk announce new album details
Titled Random Access Memories, it represents the follow-up to the French duo's last record Human After All which was launched in 2005. The new material will be released via the band's Daft Life imprint on Columbia Records and is currently available for pre-order.
Tracklisting has yet to be announced but members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo confirmed that there will be 13 tunes. They have already dropped hints on the direction it could take.
Daft Punk revealed a 16-second promo on the US chat show Saturday Night Live earlier in March whetting the appetite for fans all over the world.
Following the release of Human After All the duo gained critical acclaim, scooping the Grammy for Best Dance Recording for the track Harder Better Faster Stronger (Alive 2007) and also landing the Best Electronic/Dance Album award for the live record Alive 2007.
Daft Punk first launched themselves onto the music scene in 1997 with the debut effort, Homework, which were then built upon with 2001's Discovery and the aforementioned Human After All.
