Damon Albarn: Blur jam all the time

Damon Albarn has revealed that Blur get together all the time.
Great deals on musical instruments
It's the news all Britpop fans have been waiting to hear – Blur are recording and jamming in the studio all the time.

Since they officially got back together again in 2009, they band have been unable to make a new studio album as an outfit as they have all been exceptionally busy with their solo careers and other projects.

They released Fool's Day in 2010, which was their first single since 2003's Good Song. After which there have been no new releases.

Until now.

Speaking to NME, Damon Albarn revealed the band have created a special spoken-word piece with the poet Michael Horovitz.

It was a response to threat of Notting Hill Carnival being cancelled.

"If they'd have cancelled the carnival – and thank god they didn't – maybe we'd have put it out. It had its moment: it was a perfect plea to reinstate the carnival," he told the magazine. "So it wasn't relevant – it was relevant for about 12 hours."

He went on to say that he gets an "amazing feeling" when he gets back together with his bandmates.

It'll be interesting to see when they fit in recording a proper album as Albarn is currently investing his time in his new music project Rocketjuice to the Moon.
